News Fader Error
« on: April 02, 2002, 04:57:28 AM »

As soon as the first news item fades away, I receive the following error in Internet Explorer:

Version: 6.0.2600.0000
Cipher Strength: 128-Bit

=======================================
Line: 91
Char: 4
Error: Invalid property value.
Code: 0
URL: http://www.tpclan.net/forum/
=======================================

This happens both with v1.1.0 and now v1.3.0 (I just performed the upgrade).

It doesn't happen on the other sites I've seen that use this feature.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The file I used to install v1.1.0 is yabbse_1-1-0.zip. I moved it to the server (running Solaris 7) and unzipped it and ran the install routine.

I just checked and it does appear the fader.js file is in the proper ASCII mode (a "vi" of the file will show you the ^M characters that will be left if transferred in BIN mode from DOS).

Sorry about the "Guest Viewing". It's been enabled for you to check it out. Thanks, man!

Yeah. Had to click the lower left part of the status bar to see the error.

I just grabbed the 1.3 Safe Mode version (file name yabbse_1-3-0s.zip) and extracted the fader.js file. I then ftp'd it to the server in ASCII mode.

I still receive the same error.   :'(

For grins and giggles, I deleted "all offline content" from within IE's "TOOLS -> INTERNET OPTIONS -> DELETE FILES..." button.

Dude...you work late!   ;D

Actually, I don't even have a 2nd News Item. However, in the one News Item that I have, there is a "." in it.

I am getting the same error.......happens when you modify the template I believe as I did not get the error when the board was first installed and no modifications to the template had been made.

I have at least 3 more boards to install.  Im going to try and figure out the situation my next install.  As none of my mods should have had any affect on the news fader.  But template modification seems to be the problem.  One good thing is I did figure out why the always logged in never worked on mysite and did every where else.  If you use
