QuoteThat is indeed amazing, hard to believe that the board is fast for you when it is slow for me...
Tell me about it - that's why it's been so frustrating.

We took out the msn messenger stuff.

So it seems I was right about the MSN slowing down the board for users who don't have it installed?

Perhaps the MSN messenger stuff was the problem but I'm not convinced that is the reason for the slowdown.

The board will always seem fast when you are accessing from the same parent network but when you are spanning networks it will slow down.  On my test board, which is located on a server on my home network, requests are almost instantanious with no reduction on speed whatsoever.  Even if I loop out onto the net via IP address, it still responds almost as fast.  However, if I get a friend in Russia to run the same test, net-lag comes into play and it slows down.

cheers.........

Well for me (T1 and cable modem connections) this board is faster than it has been in the past, but it is still slower than most other boards I have been to that are just as large.

I remember not to long ago this site took forever to view pages.

I think it has to do either with the pipe or the servers it runs on.

Ok, andrea, im to lazy to read everything  :P, but I read some. If your pictures probelm is still on ur comp, i dont know what the cause, or soulotion is. But I do know I had that on my other comp. It was wierd. I ended up somehow getting my internet connecton screwed (im on an twork, my comp aint the main server, somehow i got my internet screwed, prboaly because of a download, on my comp... only). i had win 98, and i got win xp home. i got it cause images didnt work, could barely shut down, internet was scrwed, and alot more probelms. so, i got win xp home around 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 months ago (cant remember), and im fine.

You know, I am not at all convinced it was the MSN thing. It was this fast for me before as well and when I removed the MSN thing, I didn't notice a speed increase at all.

I think it had to do with the MSN tag and people who didn't have MSN installed.

Yabb.info being slow to some people could be that there ISP has some bad routers in there network and the route there traffic takes to yabb.info could lead thru a bad router.

Don't believe that since the board was almost always slow for me. I have a highspeed ADSL connection. Since Joseph made this MSN change the board is permanently much faster.

The board is slow as snails for me tonight.  I can guarantee that it's not the ISP since I'm the one running our network.  We have two OC'3's and one DS3 with more than 200 customers who have no problems with network slowdown here so I know it's not that.  The data gets here fast, it's the yabb.info site that's taking forever.  Especially the board index.  Your static pages are as fast as lightning.
