~ 11 seconds on DSL using IE 5.5; I've noticed it being slow at times. I haven't really paid attention recently, but at home I was having real troubles displaying the images on this site using Mozilla 1.0 (now using 1.1a, I'll make a point to check tonight).. The .htaccess COULD potentially be a problem, but SHOULDN'T be, I don't believe. I can't really think of anything right now...

Ok, today the board is still very slow for me BUT the images are all back  :-\
I have made no changes at all my end so have no idea why the board now looks the way it should.
Shame about the speed though.

Now, if I could only get some text into the registration agreement, I would be able to launch my forum and would not have to look further for a php board. (I have removed YaBBSE and reinstalled, and same problem occured with the new installation - editing the reg. agreement doesn't work).

As a showcase of what YaBBSE can do though, this board is not a good one.  If I hadn't used other YaBB boards, I would be completely put off using YaBBSE.

The same I was thinking several times. Me too am afraid that the slowliness of the yabb.info board will prevent people from using SE.

What is the bandwidth being provided to this board?  Are you filling up the pipe?  Its still slow but faster than it was yesterday.

It is a lot faster today  :)
Not as quick as it could be, but vastly improved.
AND everything looks as it should.

What was done to speed things up?

(BTW - sorted my registration agreement problem.  with the first install, I was unable to change the agreement and unable to access it in MySql.  Since starting again, I was still unable to edit the regn agreement BUT I was able to replace the row in the db, and all is working well.)

I am still holding off launch until I know when 1.4.1 is out.   But now that I can actually use this board without it driving me around the twist, I am more inclined to stick with the decision to use YaBB.

At this second it is quite fast for me.

Edit: indeed very fast at the moment, a real pleasure.

That is indeed amazing, hard to believe that the board is fast for you when it is slow for me...

About a couple of weeks back I also noticed some problems with the graphics. Just assumed it was a cache thing, though (my work has been having problems with its network). Everything has been working fine for the past week or so, though.
