As you know, YaBB can allows the users to select the language they want to see.... but... it works only for the time/date, categories.... but not for the board and its description !!  ....

I have a site where english and french peoples comes to, so it would be great if we can have that option...

in french...

Section Publique ...... ok... will be in english
--- Catégorie générale .... cant be translate ...
------ Discussion générale ... cant be translate ...
--------- Cette section est .... cant be translate...


in english...
Public Section ... (its the only thing who can be changed  )
... Catégorie générale...

Seems to me that if you allow the use of the user-selectable language that is built into YaBB SE, which is selectable from the users profile, you would accomplish what you want.

I know there is a user selectable language built-in in YaBB .... but .... we cant change all the text.... if yes, how ?

All the text and images can be changed.  You must goto the Download page and download language packs in the other languages you want on your board.

I'm not sure you are quite understanding what he's meaning. Whether I am or not is another matter, but here is my interpretation:

He wants to be able to define things like the descriptions of boards etc. in multiple languages, so that the English visitors see the board names/descriptions in English, and the French visitors see them in French after setting their language preferences.

That would require an extensive mod with a built in translator if I'm not mistaken....

hmm it could be done... well i dunno a lot about php and coding... but what if u edit each language pack then show them in the template... lets say..
in english.lng u have a like $generalforum= Blah blah blah blah blah.... and in the french.lng  $generalforum= Bolebuebolebue blah....
then in the general board sertting in description u could put $generalforum so when each user with each lang setting they have it show what in the .lng of each one says... so is a lot easyer than making a translator....
what da ya think?? i hope u got what iam tryng to explain

Added: I try it with no mods, i need a mod that allows in the description field to put $txt[generaldesc] something like that and show them... is it posible??

There'd be no need for a translator - simply the ability to define board names, descriptions etc. In more than one language.

There'd be no major need to allow any number of different languages, maybe just 2, or possibly 3, and modify the relevent tables in the database so that instead of just one name and description column, have two(/three).

There was in Gold1 the possebility to create 2 boards and to share the programfiles.
Maybe its an idea to create two boards in diff. languages and combine what can be combined.
Then there's no need to find out the wheel again.
