A question regarding the news.php

I can veiw the site by going to the index.php?action-news;board=3
But I'm unsure how to use the php on a page, or the shtml tag, the txt didn't realy help, can anyone help me?

Please don't crosspost.  Also, there is a readme file for the news.php in the zip package.  It tells you exactly how to embed it into your template.

I get this error:
