Try highlighting, I bet the text colour is the same as background  ;)

Sorry, real helpful only pointing out the obvious wasn't I?  :-[

Open your settings.php and look for line 86
$color['windowbg2'] = "F8F8F8"; Change F8F8F8   to a hex that is darker and the regestration background will change accordingly.
