announcement board

Okay, I have a few questions here.  First off, I'm going to start out with my ERROR I'm getting when the board tries to send out emails.  Yes, I'm using Windows (don't complain please :P), and YES I already edited my php.ini to include my mail server (which is a unix server using sendmail).

Regular mailings work fine... like if there is a new user or if you need to send over someone's password.  Those emails seem to work flawlessly.  However, when I post a message in an announcement board with email notifications is pukes with this message:

QuoteAn Error Has Occurred!

2: Server Error
(...<clip>....\Sources\Subs.php ln 313)

I already did a search and found people with similar errors but they got fixed with the php.ini.  Mine isn't fixed!  Any suggestions?  Other than disable the notifications?  cuz id really like this feature...

Question #2:  WHO does it email?  Does it email everyone on the forum?  Or, does it mail only people who have access to that particular forum?  i.e.  if i have special permissions setup for a section so "special" members are the only ones I want to get the notifications.  Only the people who can view the forum.. not the entire user list!  So, who does it send to?

THANKS!

The announcement board emails only those users who have requested to receive announcement emails for new announcements :)

Hi

I have the same problem, that when I use the send mail function, I got that error.
I'm using winNT (no comment please), with apache and php.
I tried to use different smtp servers but everywhere I got the same error.

Does anyone have an idee, why this error heppens?

Sending mails with php (another application) is still working.

Regards  Erik

If it is working with PHP for other applications it should work fine.  As long as your PHP.ini has mail configured properly it should work.
