When you create an announcement board and some threads are added there, and then you remove posts after a certain date...

if those messages are older than that date will they disapear...

and if so is there a way to make it so they are there forever?

Well...no.  The posts are old so they are being removed.  You can alter the code to avoid announcement boards though...
