Username does not exist

I feel like an idiot already, but I have searched and searched and can't find an answer.

I just did a clean install of 1.0.0.  The install went smoothly, and I created an admin account during it.  However, when I try to log in, I get the following error:  Username does not exist.

I thought it was an install problem, so I deleted all the files, wiped out the database, and did a clean install of 1.1.0 .  Same thing.  

I tried creating a user account, yet get the same error when I try logging in.  I had my password sent to me, and it appears to be sending me the encrypted version (tried logging in with that too, btw).

I didn't find this particular problem discussed here, so I'm guessing that I did something to cause this.  Any ideas where to start looking?  Any help is appreciated!

I had a problem similar to that and ended up editing the cookie info to read yabb_se. I think it was getting confused with my SP1 cookies. I don't know if it will fix your situation but it fixed mine.
