Admin section and Proxy Problem

I can´t get to the admin sectin because it just times out and the result is blank page. Someone solved the problem by allowing outgoing connections from firewall. I called my provider and they said that outgoing requests aren't disabled. I wondered what the heck it might be then it hit me: Proxy !

Every connection to the internet must go trough proxy in our network. So is it possible to make Yabb Se use proxy  ???

I had the same problem.

For the moment I removed some lines in Sources/Admin.php that get some stuff from www.yabbse.info
Comment the following lines:

  $serverDetails = file ("http://www.yabb.info/yabbinfo_versions.php");

   foreach($yabbinfo as $info){
...
   }

However there is a nicer way:
I found this (French) document on using a proxy with php
I haven't had the time yet to rewrite the yabbse code.

have a look at http://www.epita.fr/www/site/webecole/proxy.php

Hmm. That code seems useful, but I rather not would change the program code myself, because it is not good considering in the long way. If I update yabb someday I have to do the proxy setting all over again.

Gotta call my isp and ask if I could bypass the proxy, but if I can't do that then I start modify the code. Thanks for the link you gave  :)

I fixed the problem by removing that code, but now it says that my copy is illegal  :'( are you going to punish me for using it  :P or are you going to give me permission to use it  ;D

the only time it'll say your copy is illegal is if you've removed the copywrite notice from your template file.

It says that the copy is illegal only in admin centre, the copyright note of Yabb is in every page exept that.

Don´t know why, I just commented out those lines.
