Error installing YaBBSE

I hav esearch for this question but i cant find any answers so here whe go.

When i run the installer i get this after the second step:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_connect() in /home/yabb/public_html/YaBBSE/install.php on line 102

If i try to login  in a shell it works perfekt.

If i run index with a modified Settings file i get this:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_connect() in /home/yabb/public_html/YaBBSE/index.php on line 41

My question is (as you have guessed) whats happening?

Where do i start serching for the solution.

Hrmmm....where are you hosted?

Since it looks like you are on a modified PHP version. mysql_connect() is a standard function in PHP, they can only get it out by explicitly removing the library from the config.

I have my own server with php ver 4.0.6
And its totally default installed.
View it at.

http://asarum.dns2go.com/~yabb/phpinfo.php

I am new to php and mysql so this is my first attempt.

YaBBSE and mysql is on the same server so there is no network connecting only locally

Make sure you compiled PHP to work with mySQL.

I dont know how its compiled because i installed them together with the RedHat dist.
Is there anyway of checking if it supports MySql??

I couldn't find anything about MySQL in your phpinfo(), so I would guess that's probably it...

By the way, nice with another user from Sweden on the boards - It is way too uncommon! Be sure to visit the Scandinavian board as well!

Found this is in the configure command part:

--without-mysql'

Could be it

Sounds very likely - "without-mysql" seems to imply that PHP is not set up to work with MySQL...

So I would guess that's most likely the problem.

its my own private server so i have to recompile it.

I got it working now
I just patched the php installation with support for mysql.
