Resizin Tables & Removing Images Next To Copyright ?

Hey all.  I was just wondering if you guys know how to do this please ?  BAsically the top table where the navigation is always tends to be bgger then the main table and same with the bottom one.  Also I would like to remove the  Images.

you can get rid of the images 2 ways:
search for the images and change them so nothing is displayed or change them to a black transparent 1x1 pixel gif

i was updating template.html not .php from my upgrade.
