Hi all,
My YaBBSE forum is moving from a Yahoo club, and we'd like to post our old messages on YaBBSE.  We've pulled out the 1500 or so posts and have them as HTML files, and I think we can manipulate that somewhat to get them into YaBBSE.
   Anyone have any suggestions?
All the posts were in one large, unsearchable board and so I think we'd be fine with them all in one topic.

the only suggestion i can give you is to post each by hand as a Guest inserting all the names from the posters...

alot of copy'ing and pasting.  ;)

Well, I figured that we might be able to build a file that  we could use to put all those posts into one of the tables in the database. I'm just afraid It'll stop working if I do...

I'm sorry if I'm being dense, but are you saying that there are lots of tables I'll have to populate to import the messages? I was hoping that I could create a topic and then use a script to put the posts ( all with that new topic) in the yabbse_messages table. Next I figured on going to the admin screen and telling YaBBSE to repair boards and topics, then to recount totals.

Any chance this would work?

Thanks for your time and effort.

im not exactly sure if it would work or not... im still not very familiar with the code so.

but yes there are quite a few tables to fill. theres the tables for the messages them selves... then theres the tables for posts that are listed in the message index... so on and so forth...

i'll have a chat with on of the dev's
