Running installer, and when I go to access mysql I get:

Cannot use database yabbse, connection to server succeeded by the way.

Im getting this same error admitedly im a newbie to this stuff.. but Ive gotten this far :)

Im getting the same exact error as he is above :(  Any ideas?  the two databases I see when typing "mysqlshow" at the command line is: mysql and test

Any ideas?

It means that the database is there, and the connection succeeded, but you have no permission to access that database. Make sure you have the correct grants to access it.

If you're on a freehost, it's probably an error - email them about it.

I got mine fixed... since I installed mysql the password WAS blank....  so installing php I left the mysql user/pass blank and it worked. 8)
