What do you use to chmod the files?

Hi

I am using wsftp remotely.

But i am given the error message option not supported.
Chmod failed not supported on remote site.

wsftp is designed for unix,  could this be the problem?

Alteratively i can get access to this win2000 server directly if need be, is there something i need to enable to allow chmod?  Or can i chmod the file on the server itself with something else?

hi m8 sounds more like ur host does not support CHMOD, maybe u should change hosts, free sites like geocities etc... don't support CHMODing.

As for wsftp, it very unlikley that there is a problem with thr FTP client, maybe u should use something more easier like CuteFTP.

There is no CHMOD and no need for on WIN2000 servers.

Thank you curious.

Will this software therefore work without chmoding the files,  or does it not work at all on win2000 ?

on win2k, the software will work without chmod'ing any files or dirs.
