i create a folder: yabb
i upload everything in BIN except install.php, that one in ascii
i give the folder 755 permission...
en then... i run install.php and what info do I fill in...
because I keep getting errors... i don't get it anymore...

I believe spaceports runs in safe mode - so you need to use the safemode installer.

yes it does run in safe mode,
i uploaded all folders into the yabb folder...
i've uploaded all other files into the yabb folder, and then i upoloaded install.php in ascii...
then i run the install.php... and i just can't get it

and the installer says to me: succes!!!
i run index.php and all it said was...
Parse error: parse error, expecting `T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING' or `'('' in /usr/home/frumper/public_html/yabb/index.php on line 247

what does this mean?

It appears the version of php running on your server doesn't like

hmmm the perl version was within 5 minutes running

make a PHP file upload it to spaceports called phpinfo.php and inside put:

   phpinfo()
?>

what version of PHP are they running?

Wait to see what the Dev's have to say, but Spaceports may need to upgrade there version of PHP.

I get the same error at http://davison.port5.com which is running on portland.co.uk servers.
I know others who had probs with portland servers for yabb se, zef had a few when he started betaring kb there as well.

please let me know if there is a fix I can do or do I need to wait for a patch?

Please go to Portland (http://office.portland.co.uk/cgi-bin/index.cgi) and write an error report and ask for update, they run PHP v4. I get same error as you, and maybe more reports would speed up the update?
