I see you can purchase a license to remove the copyright. Why do this? I used to think phpBB was amazing, but when I saw YaBB, that changed. I want everyone to know I use YaBB!

I must be a very weird person. I like putting Copyright on my website and almost on every stuff that I create. So count me out in removing the YaBBSE copyright ;)

I don't think that anyone minds removing copyright notice as such, but some sites like to integrate BB's completely, so it looks like they have developed custom solution themselves. In order to maintain consistant look, they only want one copyright notice (their own) and not two.

Now that I am aware of YaBB existance I will test it on my dedicated server. The fact that I can pay and remove copyright notice just might win the day for YaBB, as 'the vBother' forum software would not allow me to do that.

What I do on my main site is remove the "© 2001-2003, YaBB SE Dev Team. All Rights Reserved." line since it has been said it can be removed.  This way the link and notice of YaBBSE is still there, which is the important part, while it does not look like there could be conflicting copyrights between my site's content and the forum.  Then again, on every forum we host we leave the entire thing. >:D

Now I don't believe that I actually paid for vBulletin. It was good at first, but then all the free BBs got better than a paid 'solution' as they put it.
