Why is the registration process/fields so limited? All that is asked for is the username, password, email address.

It would be nice if there was an option to add in more fields like Location, Birthdate, Avatar, etc... They would not have to be manditory but I think most people would fill them out anyway.

It would just make the members profile more complete and we would get a better idea of the identity of the  members posting. :)

I know that the members can change this once they login but from my expirience, most do not.

loads of people see a big field and turn away, i know i do on other boards cant be bothered looking carefully for ones with stars to denote them as compulsary.

Deffinatly prefair the short one
