Colour changing..

Hey everyone.

I just downloaded the YaBB SE 1.4.1 and installed in with the php installer. (Note: my host does not have safe mode enabled so it went though with no errors) What I want to do is change the colour background where the no new posts, and the new post icons show up. Maybe change it to a gray? you can see my board here: http://infectus.seppie.net/yabbse/index.php  Im taking about the blueish colour background with the icons on the left. I want to change it to a grayish colour to go with my yellow look. Thanks in advance all help will be appericated

NOTE: Ive tried in the settings window in the Admin panel and still nothing..
