Better News Faders

Would someone please email me a better news fader.

The one that comes with 1.4SE looks terrible on my dark backgrounds!

It depends because it blinks instead of fades on dark backgrounds, try modifying Fade.gif to accomidate for that problem as the color doesn't seem to be a transparent layer so you need to change the fader color to the color in your background.
