[Done 1.4.0] New Instant Messages Alert Box

I already asked Chris Cromer for his permission to update his mod to 1.4.0.  This mod will add a pop-up alert box when you have a new unread message.  Use the Newmessagesalert.mod with Board Mod.  Upload the Newmessagesdbalert.php to your YaBB SE directory and run it to update your database.

the new php script doesn't go in sources?

Did you upload and run the script that came with it?

Put it in the directory with settings.php and run it, that should fix it.

I installed the script with no problems, but it dosen't seem to work.

I ran the php script in the main folder with the settings.php file, it gave the OK on the DB update, but when I sent myself a test message from a test username, nothing.

Can anyone help?

Thanks Nemesis. I tried it on my server running at hoe too which is still 1.4, that didn't work either.

Sorry, still new to the YABB Admin. Didn't know till some digging that you needed something like BoardMod. I didn't realize what you were talking about when you were talking about that.

When I ran the mod with that, I had and error in step 5, but I was able to fix that.

Works great now with 1.4.1

edit2:I get some dublicate errors when I try to update my db, I used this mod back in 1.3 so should I delete those old tables or will they work with the new one?

hey i am new to all this, but all i did was edit the source code to implement my own instant messaging "pop up alert" with version 1.4.1.

really simple like 8 lines of code.
