Not Cookies? Can't stay logged in.

I know there's a lot of posts about this, but really no solution. I am an analyst programmer so I know the basics. Let's skip the cookies and such and try going straight to the core problem. I did a fresh install of YaBBSE and I'm getting the same problem as a lot of other people, I can't stay logged in. I've tried Macintosh systems, Windows 2000, Windows 98, cleared cache and cookies on them all and STILL have the problem. I'll try anything at this point because I'd really like to take advantage of the speed increase I am seeing over YaBB 1 Gold. ALSO: When I delete all cookies, the only one that shows up is 'expiretime' and not the username/password cookies. I have no problems with cookies on any other site or Yabb board. I have allow all turned on as well. Thank you, I know you're working hard!

I have the latest PHP and MySql installed. I run a vBulletin forum - also using PHP and MySql - and it runs ok. Any suggestions on places to look? here's the yabbse forum - http://www.jerryjohnson.net/yabbse/index.phpand here is the vBulletin forum http://www.jerryjohnson.net/forums/index.phpI also have installed IkonBoard and Yabb Gold SP! - both run fine and I know they are Perl scripts not PHP/MySql. My point is I have successfully installed a few forum packages now but I have no clue where to look to solve this problem.

I use www.mydomain.com and it points to jerryjohnson.homeip.net - a free dns service. I have my webserver on my dsl connection and the IP changes - usually every 2 weeks or so after a reboot. I use a dns client that checks the current IP and reports it to homeip.net and it all works. In the setup I have tried both urls - www.jerryjohnson.net and jerryjohnson.homeip.net - and neither seems to matter.
