MSSQL Server

Okay, I know a lot of the coding is being done for MySQL, but will YaBBSE run on a MS SQL Server (either 7 or 2000) without too much hassle? Or would I also have to install MySQL (and risk conflicts)? It would be great if I could run it on MS SQL Server. (At home, I run W2K Server and SQL Server 7, both of which cost a pretty penny :-().

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if it'll run - I don't know how the socket connections are formed - but I'll take a look at it :)

I looked into it, and it SHOULD work.  All we should have to do is change all the mysql_ to mssql_ in the source files.

This would change the queries, connects, fetch_arrays etc into the right commands.

But I offer no guarantees as we've not tested on that kind of a system.

Well, ya know, I just happen to know somebody who has a Windows 2000 Server running with PHP 4.0.6 and ActivePerl 5.6 and SQL Server 7...and I think he might just be willing to test out YaBBSE... *hint hint* :-)

Seriously though, if you need someone to test YaBBSE out on a Windows 2000 Server, I'd be more than willing to help. Currently have YaBB1 Gold running on it at http://66.41.160.128:8765/YaBB/YaBB.pl
