The built-in mod function is cool as hell, except for one thing... Did you guys think to put an uninstall mods option in?  There is a remove function, but that just deletes the packages, doesn't it.  It doesn't actually uninstall the mod from the board.

the uninstall part is harder than the install part ;)

anyway, no there isn't any current way to automatically uninstall the mods you install with package manager....

this makes it very bad - just imagine you installed a bugy mod... you'd have to write mods for mods to fix it. :-\

just wondering, it would be extremely easy to write an uninstall routine, just reverse <search for> and <replace>, all <add>'s simply have to be removed. That's the way boardmod is doing it and it works very well.

Reember guys, we released Package Manager as a BETA feature.  We know there is more to do with it but thought we'd let it out with some functionality...

suggestion eh? How about a counter. From your packages folder. Everytime someone takes your hack you can count it! Or even the address of who uses it? Meh. Stuck for ideas!  :P ::)

A back buttons you can get from the package server list back to the downloaded package list? >.<

I think I should just rewrite most of the Package Manager.  I was thinking about including several new tags for devlopers.
Other, User convienience functions could be:
  • Uninstaller
  • Easier Navigation
  • List of installed mods
  • Bug Fixes -- lots

I should probably talk to Joseph about this, because the actual installer needs lots of fixing.
