[BETA] YaBB Poll v0.1 Released

Hi all...

I just wrote a little script that a few of you may be interested in using so I thought i'd throw a link on here. It's not a mod, its an add-on.

The script enables you to allow your forum members to vote in the latest poll, random poll, or a poll you choose, from your home page, or any page on your site. (To see it in action go to http://www.greedyfools.com and look in the bottom right column. It's the last poll one of our forum members created in the forums!)

Only forum members are able to vote, non-members (or members that are not logged into the forums) see the results of the poll and a link that lets them register or login in order to vote.

I haven't tested it extensively so if you find any bugs, please let me know at [email protected] asap.

Also this has only been tested on YaBBSE v1.3.0 and YaBBSE v1.4.0. Not sure if it works for earlier versions.

To download (it's only 1 file) point your browser to http://www.greedyfools.com/freecontent.php.

Scroll to the very bottom and you'll see a download link.

Thanks!

Nate Sanden,
GreedyFools.com Webmaster

* UPDATE (June 18th) *
1. Version 0.2 is now available for download!

Yeah you would have to change it to .php or .phtml. I figured most people had their sites in PHP anyway if they chose to use YaBBSE rather than YaBB. Guess I was wrong :)

You change the name of it from index.html to index.php, simple as that. The add that include code (theres a sample in the program instructions) wherever you want the poll to be displayed on your page.

I don't think your going to notice any difference. But its up to you however you want to do it. You could even upload a .htaccess file that changes your apache config to parse html files as php. Though wouldnt recommend it.
