With YaBB SE 2 coming out I have no doubt that it will become the premier forum software out there. As such it would be nice to have the look and feel of a first class forum. Something that all the other forums get wrong... It always feels like the other guys worry about the code first and the human interface last. To help YaBB in my own way, I decided to post with an idea to help the new SE 2 forum flow and allow it to be the easiest yet most advanced forum software out there. My idea: emulate Apple's webmail interface for IM/E-mail. I have heard rumblings that SE 2 may include a new IM center or e-mail center. I don't know if this is true, but if it is please try and avoid duplicating Outlook, as that's not such a great model to follow. Anyone can create an Outlook look and feel. Just throw stuff at the screen and hope people can follow. Bad idea.
Apple's webmail offers all the same features, but it's *much* easier to use, flows better, and just looks nice. Since it's web based it should be easier to duplicate, PLUS it's a much better design (in my opinion). Since I'll assume most people here don't have access to a Macintosh, I created a dummy iTools account so you guys can log in and take a look.

Following the webmail design will bring a sense of style and ease of use that will only be found on YaBB SE. Yet one more reason to use YaBB over the other guys.
I don't even know if these ideas will be in SE 2, or what is going on... I just wanted to be pro-active about this. I *love* YaBB SE and would love to see the board style, design and navigation be second to none! This would be a great first step.
If you like, I have a couple other pages that would be great to emulate. If you think I'm crazy, just tell me to shove it and be glad that I get anything for free at all

Thoughts? Am I off my rocker again?
