I ran across this site when considering vBulletin.  It works with vBulletin and phpBB.  Something like or similar to this would be cool!

Goodness, I would give anything to have a decent photo gallery.  The one I have sucks and I would LOVE for my users to be able to have something like this without having to re-register and look at that ugly one i have now.  This IS an AWESOME idea!   ;D

Had a look.  Yep, they are using the photopost package.  For the heck of it, I checked out the bottom of their forum index page, and it's a YaBB SE forum! (Hmmmm, may have to email their webmaster?)

Thanks!

I don't mean to be a pain, but I think something like this would be a huge boost for yabbse.  I know my users would LOVE to have something like that integrated into the board, but also having its own format as photopost seems to have.  My gallery blows.  I hate the design of it and you can't comment on the photos.  Not only that, but you have to register again to post photos.  yuk.

This is really exciting to me and I think there would be a great demand for it.

I think many people think it would be a good thing.  It would be a very large project which is my guess to why it hasn't been writen yet.  Maybe it could be included in YaBBSE2.

Possibly yabbse2.  I would go for photopost but it's 119 bucks.  I pretty much do everything out of my own pocket so it's hard to justify buying it.  Bummer because it's a pretty cool program.

you could always go with Gallery. it's open source and free and already has mySQL capabilities as it is capable of being as module for PHPNuke and PostNuke. it's athought anyway. i have it running on my site now if you wanted to take a look (not as an addon to YaBB SE, as it's own entity).

i really don't have an interest in integrating a gallery into YaBB. just offering suggestions. i'd probably install it anyway if it there was an integration of the two anyway beings i have them though.

Ive tried this gallery and couldnt get the damn thing to work, nothing but mucho errors...

i may try again as i have a gaming site that needs a screenshot gallery with a sidebar view of recent submissions.

this one seems to have it all.

if i cant get it working, ill have to resort to killing someone or getting the devs to help me install it.

grr, i hate giving out my ftp info. oh, its on a postnuke site..or will be.

i have a friend who has it set up in postnuke. he seems to really like it. i also personally found it to be a fairly painless install. i have it sitting standalone though, so that may allow for the difference in ease.

in terms of how hard it would be to integrate the 2, i do not know. most likely some of the project volunteers would be willing to help also. the version 2 that is upcoming may move away from the flat file database method to a mySQL also. would proably be as good of a time to start on it if anyone was going to as any.

Welp,

I talked to the guys over at photopost about this and they didn't seem too interested in making their stuff compatible with YaBB SE.  The Spymac guy has done his own hack from what I understand.  So much for that.  Maybe we'll see a future version of it.  I hope so.   Photopost is really cool but maybe we could do it over here.  Oh well.
