Favorites folder

The last two weeks or so I've spent a lot of time here, and have read lots of useful things. Now I have come to a point where I know I've read something that I need now, but where?
The search function is good, but often I don't know what words to search for...

So what about this idea: Either a possibility to make topics "personal sticky", they will become sticky only for me, or some kind of "favorites folder" for threads or messages that I find useful and want to find easy later?

I think on a large and busy board like this I should find it really useful!

Nice to see someone found my idea interesting and not completely stupid ;)

But then again, if this mod will be done, either by you or by someone else not as overloaded as you are, i certainly hope it will be installed in forums like this (big hint !!), cause it's there I (and other members I hope and think) will have a good use for it.

I have something in mind when I think of this mod. But I am not sure if it is what you want. Basically let each user choose up to 5 of their favorite topics, and in their profile have it have links to their 5 favorites. But make it so they can't add more unless they remove 1 so that it won't overwrite the others... I don't know if I will do this kind of mod though, but that is just a though I had about a way of doing it.

Yes, that could be one way of doing it. Just something to let you find certain topics in an easy way later on.
But I'm not sure 5 is enough though.. Not for me, and not on this board... ;D

Actually I have a great idea for this mod, and I'll add it to the queue if no one can get to it before me:
If you "favorite" a topic, a copy would be placed in a special board that only you can see. When someone posts a message in the original thread, it will automatically search out any personal copies and update them as well. With this method, a limit of personal copies should be imposed as it could slow down the forum quite a bit (if it's a large forum.)

You sort of do have this ability now. If you set a notification on a thread you can hit the Notifications link and it will give you a list of all the threads you have marked.

Yes, I thougt the same thing...
I don't want a bunch of e-mails, especially not from boards I visit at every day, often many timas a day...

But maybe it's possible to use the same function, store the threads in a link list, but without the emails?
