How do you view the topics in a threaded format?  It's kind of confusing to see who responded to what?

Thanks,
Paul

You can't :) YaBB SE is a flat style forum, if you want to use threaded you have to find some other forum software.

Thanks for the response  8).  So how do you decipher who responed to what post if they did not "quote"?

Thanks,
Paul

Well you can't :) Usually the conversation flows so that it is pretty easy to keep up who was answering to which question and quotes should be used. The users just need to learn to use quotes :)

Oddly enough - it's a rare problem :)

Unless:
a) it's a very busy topic
or
b) two people post a reply at the same time

it's rare that things should fall out of line - 99/100 times you can work it out - or they'll give the name of the user that they're responding to. :)

Well, YABBSE is the best forum software I've seen so far.  I just can't get over the fact that they miss the option to view in threaded format.  Phorum does it well but it is so bland.  Do you have any other recommendation to other forum software that resembles YABBSE with threaded views?

Thanks,
Paul

Most forums do not offer threaded anymore...it's kind of an "old way".

Sorry, I personally don't like threaded view because the user has to use back and forward buttons all the time to keep up with the discussion so I haven't really looked for that kind of forums. I like flat style the best :)
