How does one set the login cookies to never expire (forever login time)?

I tried changing it through the ADMIN section, however, the form field accepts 0-9 input only.

I'm running 1.3.0 with 1.3.1 update.

I'm not sure that is very wise because users tend to user the board from work or school where other users might also use the computer and that way be able to user someone elses login name. The users who can be logged in forever and it is not a security risk can just tick the box when they login.
