I don't like the idea of direct downloading (ie the actual url to the attachment). That way you cant count the number of times the file has been downloaded etc.
It wouldn't actually be hard to change it anyway! And prevent guests from downloading then would be much easier.
That is, of course, if you dont want guests downloading stuff..
