I see. Hm... The previous was better. Reasons:

1st: you did not spare any space, please observe that there is just more empty space by this in the "last post" column. I can attach some hardcopies to show clearer, case you don't understand what I mean.

2nd: for a fast reader ("image reader" we say in german) as I am its time lossy to have to hover first the date. Just it's faster to have the overview at 1st glance, without needing for clicking or hovering anything.

Furthermore, what is definitely missing in YaBB boards, again for fast readers: to see what is new in one single page. This should be visible in one screen, also without need for clicking, hovering or anything. Just by scrolling up and down.
