You can't let them use regular HTML, although you can disable the YaBB code - it's listed under 'Enable Bulletin Board Code?' in Forum Preferences and Settings :)

You can do everything that is needed with the Bulletin Board Codes.  By allowing html all the error checking would be gone and it would be much easier to screw things up.

Actually, the Yabbc tags are better than HTML for various reasons but the best reason is that it is pretty hard to mess up your code since all you do is click a button and enter you code in the proper place.  It's a faster, safer and easier system to both learn and use.

Allowing HTML is dangerous to your board as it can easily mess up your board and make it unuseable, not to mention the possibility of malignent scripts that could be inserted.

cheers...........

agree with john

bb tags are easier to use than html tags, and most of them are very similiar
if u find something that's good in html tags that isnt in yabbc tags, then u can request yabb se to make that tag available in yabbc tags ;)
