oh Greg can I ask u this :

 1st have to say that ur backup manager's great, easy 2 use

 2nd : i wonder, if i make the backup, then after that, how do i convert it to database ? let say i remove my mySQL , then reinstall, and put the backup in ? how do i do that ?

There's an option in the settings file:

$settings['recreate_structure'] if I remember correctly.

Set this to 1 and when you restore the database schema file included will be run to restore the database tables. :)

It should be set to 1 by default.

Just remember you need to have a database and user set up :)

oh oh Greg, let`s say, after running backup.php okay, I have backup.sql or something , cant remember that extention name

 and what I want to know is, if i delete my mySQL , and then reinstall, how do i use that backup.sql, to bring my database back ?, that was my question

 and of coz I did keep the recreate_structure as 1, :)

Quite simple:

1) Make sure the settings file has the filename of the file you want to restore for the backup file setting.
2) Make sure you have created a database with a valid user and that theses settings are correct in your settings file.
3) Run restore.php in that folder - it will take the file mentionned in the settings and restore it to the specified database :)

I you backup your attachments folder and the YaBB SE Settings.php file and restore those as well the whole thing should work like nothing ever happened :)
