Ok, now I'm frustrated all over again. I tried to load up my forum today and got the following string of errors:

Warning: Failed opening 'template.html' for inclusion (include_path='/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/smoke/public_html/smsteam/Sources/Subs.php on line 144

2: Failed opening 'template.html' for inclusion (include_path='/usr/local/lib/php')
(/home/smoke/public_html/smsteam/Sources/Subs.php ln 144)

Sorry, the copyright tag must be in the template.
Please notify this forum's administrator that this site is using an ILLEGAL copy of YaBB!

BUT -- I am using the DEFAULT template that comes with 1.1.0 -- and I have NOT removed the tag. What gives?? Its like its not even recognizing the template.html, but its there alright!

Any help would be appreciated! [And please move this topic to wherever it is most appropriate.]

The only thing I've been able to come up with so far, is that maybe the include_path on the server got changed -- which would something my host would have done. But I have no idea whether thats correct...!

You only get that error since it failed opening the template.html.

Ask them if they have changed any of the include paths...make sure template.html is still there and still readable by everyone.

template.html is indeed still there and can be read by everyone. Anything else it might be before I accuse my host of changing their include_path ? :)

Nope. I tried upgrading to 1.3.0 on ONE of my forums and all heck broke loose, so that forum is out of the picture. I'm dealing with two forums that are both 1.1.0 across the board.

Actually it turns out that this is now strictly a PHP issue, meaning that this thread probably belongs in the PHP Help category... because I have tested some simpler PHP scripts and always get the same error message. I am fairly certain now that its an include_path problem, and I would be very surprised if my host hasn't been messing with their PHP settings lately.

I'm wrong yet again. Another PHP script with an include works just fine. I don't understand whats happening.

Er.. ok.. why would this happen all of a sudden with no provocation on THREE forums simultaneously, if it was just a bad template? I've tried replacing the templates with the default one that comes with 1.1.0 and it didn't change anything. It's not READING the template.html, not even recognizing it. Changing the template.html file to a different template.html probably isn't going to make much difference, I'm afraid.
