any plans to make a mod that will reformat a whole thread or even individual posts so that they are more "printer friendly?"

also, how about a check box in the "posting" screen that will allow the user to use or not use his/her signature.  the default (whether it's checked or not) could be set in the user's profile.

Both of these are very good ideas.  It could be difficult for printing in order to get out oif the template.  The signiture idea is absolutly needed!

I was thinking that basically the "view printable" would just strip out any inline images and replace them with something like the text "[image]" (including in signatures), use basic windows default colors (black text on white background) and just display the main tables (message body, header, user name, etc.)  Then at the top is printed the Forums name, url, time/date, etc. (there could also be an admin option to add some sort of default text to the header of the page, just below the forum name for instance).

I haven't learned my PHP enough so I really don't know how hard all that would be to code... but sure works better then having to select text and then cut/paste it into notepad
