You guys saved my board!

I just wanted to let you know how much I appriciate what's going on here. I discovered YaBBSE yesterday while looking for a new board. I was ready to throw my board in the garbage and make my users convert to something with MySQL. YaBB is just so slow on busy boards. I was getting 750 unique users a day, 20,000 clicks over 24 hours. Blah. Can you imagine how slow it was? This was on an 800mhz Dual box too!

You guys saved my board. I installed YaBB SE and upgraded without a hitch. My users are very pleased. The speed is fantastic. I definatly plan on helping porting the code and reporting bugs.

Heh glad it worked for you.  Also, check the Bugs 1.3 board as I know you had an issue with the IM bug (although your solution is perfectly fine).

You saved my board as well, after recieving this yeserday:

"We have had to suspend the use of Yabb on your site due to its resource needs. The script is not running very effeciently so we must ask that you opt for a php alternative such as Vbulletin or OpenBB instead."

Luckily I remembered some talk of a php YaBB, it took me 10 hours to find, download, upload, install and convert, plus work out how to do everything.

The response so far from the members has been brilliant, praises of faster speeds and improved viewing and controls, and I still have a board that makes me feel confident of hacking

The finding was the smallest part of the 10 hours, working out how to install when you have no clue what you are doing took up most of the time
