Announcement Board vs. Enable News

I'm getting a little confused... each board now has an option called "Make this board an announcement board."

Plus under Forum Preferences & Settings, there is still an option to enable News (not the little header/fader thing, the News board), although that seems not to work.

What exactly is an Announcement Board? Does it mean only the Moderators can post, or that only Mods can start a new post but anyone can reply?

Otherwise, 1.3 looks great!

in an annoucement board only Admin's and Moderators can start a topic but everyone can reply.

"Enable News" is for the fader/header info... its just another option to turn a feature on or off.

I tried to change a current board an announcement board in the admin settings but after I check the check box and save, anyone can still create new threads.

I went ahead and created a new board and marked it as an A. B. and moved the messeges to it. It's working fine, I just dont know why I could not make an existing board one. I all the topics were started by an administrator so I dont see what the problem would be.
