I need your help / suggestions
I run a new message board at http://www.wowphilippines.org

User feedback tells me that:
#1 They are BEWILDERED on how to POST messages.
#2 They do not know HOW TO REGISTER.
#3 They have no idea of Logging in.
#4 They cannot grasp the idea that there are topics(boards) under a category.

My questions:
#1 Are these people just plain stupid?
#2 Are these people just plain lazy to read?
#3 Are these people just not interested?

I need some suggestions.

It sounds like they are new to the concept of a board rather than new to YaBB SE.

They just need practice.

Most bulletin boards are the same (some differences like threading), for instance logging in - I would guess that they haven't used bb's before - otherwise they would know how to log in. :)

I would say that the answer to your questions is YES.  I installed a YaBB 1 Gold board in my web site to replace a board similar to WWWBoard and I had few problems getting people to get used to it.  A couple of regular users from the old board complained a bit at the beginning but in no time they were posting like pros.

I am now in the process of moving over to YaBB SE because the other version is not well suited for boards with a significant amout of traffic.

None of the boards are similar to each other so everytime you go to a new board it takes a little time to get used to it. I don't think YaBB SE is any more difficult than other message boards to get into. If the users haven't used a message board before it is true that this kind of an installation can be a bit complicated in the start.

I have many users on my board that haven't used a board before and usually they can start posting without any problems. They just usually say that they keep on finding new stuff everyday on the board. Which I think is a very positive thing. It's a good thing that users can get easily into the board but still it offers enough possibilities so that it won't get limited after user starts to know it better.
