Picture resizing...

In 1.0, the forum would squeeze the picture bigger or make it smaller depending on the settings you have set.  For example if the picture was 200/180 and the forum had a max at 100/80 it would resize it to that.  In version 1.3 this does not happen with jpgs and gives an error message if the picture is bigger then what is set. It may not do this with gifs, but it does with jpgs.  I heard from Jeff that this was taken out because some people did not like it and considered it a bug.  Is there anyway that someone can recreate this again somehow?  Maybe it is a few lines of code that were removed or should be added.  I would really appreciate it if someone could make something like this again or make it work once again.  Thanks!

I like this idea, especially to shrink big sized images.

Yup, that's also a function I need for my forum. Folks  posting 1024*768 wallpapers isn't nice for my layout... :)

I'm glad other like the function too.  I hate it when someone chooses a picture so big that half my screen is it.  I still wonder why it was considered a bug and taken out for 1.1 and 1.3.  Is there any possibility that someone can recreate this for us?  Anyone?

Maybe some folks thought it was a bug because as far as I know, there was no option to turn it off. But I liked it very much so I agree with KillaP when he sais he would like to see it being re-created for 1.3.1 :)

Will someone re-make it? Or do I have to learn too?  :(

i think its better your users will have to change the size of the avatar they will use, so the needed time to load your board will be more moderate!

often you have pictures 65x65 and the board loads half a hour cause the picture is a 1024x768 wallpaper!

To remove the avatar size checking you can do this to your code. I had to edit it a few minutes ago because I allow my current users to use pictures larger than 65x65 as long as the file sizes aren't huge.

This is a good fix for now, but I'd like to have an option either in the forum preferences or mod settings.

I didn't want to paste it because it would look weird. You can find the change at the below address.

you can deactivete the "sizecheck" by setting the variable to 0 in forum preferences! but this will not resize big images!
