Backing up the DB

Hey all, I was just wondering I hear so much about Backing my DB, but when i look in my FTP, i see no SQL folder or anything, how do i go about getting to a backup section? I have  phpMyAdmin section, but i see no abckup section any help?

Also, can someone make a php script that will chmod all my files to XXX0 ? My hostingf said world read/write/exec is not allowed, but world is assigned to group becuase of security reasons
( i dunno)

Go into PHP admin.  Then open the database you use for your board.  Look down on the page for where it says "View dump (schema) of database" or something similar.  You want to select everything in the box below that.  Next to the box check "Structure and data".  Then below that select "Save as file".  Then hit the "go" button.  It might take a while but it will then give you a file to save to your computer which is a backup of your database.
