I REALLY hate it when you have an amazing topic started and a great conversation is going on.... then 15 posts down the line someone starts talking about something else entirely which might not be a great way of posting but still has either valid points.. or another great direction for discussion (or both) so what do I do? lock the thread?
remove the message from the board?
OR
SPLIT the thread into a new conversation (with a link maybe?) on another part of the forum...

I'm not sure how possible this would be but it would save a lot of headaches on my forum...

I also remember this being commented on previously but having checked through the board unfortunatly I'm unable to find anything on the suggestion in either mod ideas or the FAQ.  Possibly meaning it was lost with the DB problem

Would love to know if its being worked on for 1.2.0 :)

thanks  8)

EDIT: 1.3.0 .... I cant count  :-[

I agree that a function to split threads would be very useful - So would an option to merge two threads into one.

vBulletin has both these features and it's pretty much the only thing I miss with YaBB SE...

The correct URL to the VB admin demo is:
http://www.vbulletin.com/admindemo.html

They have a lot of options, although I can't see a big use for most of them (the exception being the ability to split and merge threads)...

ok... eww, it has a completely seperate CP.

I really like to ability to add smilies, images, ubbc, and other stuff.  Also, it gives you the option to toggle almost everything on/off!

The referral system is nice.. there are some things that I dont like but we should work on adding the good

How would the meger work?
would it just order ALL the messages by date? Or would it have all the messages from topic A, then all the messages from topic B ??

I would figure from A to B. Ordering by date would just screw up the flow of the conversations.

The way vBulletin works, messages in merged threads are ordered by date.  That may not always be the best option though...
