Admin area wont load

I have tried accessing teh admin area but it just doesnt load. It starts to load, and then goes on loading for an eternity. As far as I know, all other sections work fine.

Any suggestions to correct this?

No sorry nothing to help you yet, but someone else has already had this problem.

After the upgrade from final to rel100 I had probs to enter admin section too. I did the upgade with the safe install method. The resolution of the problem was:
chmod 666 *.php *.xml
in the directory where the SE is installed

Additionnally, I chmoded everyfile in the the the /forum/ directory 777 to see if that may have been it. Nope... wasn't.

Is there an error or warning message when you try to access admin? If yes then which is the full message?

No, theres no warning or anything. It simply fails to load. It gets about 50%, and then stops loading, and after 6-7 minutes I get the failed to load page, refresg browser try again yada yada...

Hi i get these messages when i try to log into admin, just wondered if it would help, and maybe someone else knows what ive done wrong.

im running on a f2s.com server PHP4.0.3 SQL3.0somthing (i forget but it meets the minimum spec)

i CHMODDED all files .php and .xml to 666
i uploaded php in ASCII
erm

well anyway still no luck

I believe to remember that read somewhere that YaBB SE requires php 4.0.5 ?

So, because F2S.com uses 4.0.3pl1 this would be the problem ?!
I guess that would be a bit strange, don't you think ?
