Okay, here's my idea for a mod for YaBB...

In avatars, it shows the name of the file, for example andreacorr.jpg will show as andreacorr

Maybe, if it's not that much work, it could be made so that the admin can change andreacorr to show as Andrea Corr... maybe stored in a table of some sort.

Thanks,
Aussie

yes would be an idea!

I also have an idea! (unbelievable? >:( )  ;D

Would be great to have more "avatar sets"!
Maybe a few folders .. in every folder is another set of avatars!
And in the admin area you can change the folder with an oull down menu! ..

only a little idea!  ::)

just to expand on that idea, it would be good if all users can select from their profile the different folders available.

that way everyone has access to the appropiate folder of their choice.

I had that set up for Yabb 1 Gold,  Different Folders, different avatars.  I'm going to try and create one!  Using MySql, that would allow you only allow certain users to select from the list!

:)

hm ... but that would be nonsense? then you can also do all pictures in one folder!

Only the admin should be able to change the avatars!

What do u mean exactly?

well in your drop down menu you have a list of avatars to choose from right?

ok if I have 100 avatars that would fit 5 different catagories.

1. cartoons
2. girls
3. movies
4. cars
5. animi

then I would name a folder for each of the catagories so a user can choose the appropiate folder to select his/her avatar instead of sifting through 100 avatars without any catagorie.

you know what I mean now?

yes I see what you mean. kind of like a permission setting for user groups so when you are assined to a specific group you have access to a specific avatar folder.

I'm working on one.  But that's only going to be part of what I'm planning on doing?  I'm going to be working on a users preferences section!  Hopefully!  It will include all the regular stuff, plus a new avatar section, board settings  ( allow them to choose certain settings, like how much topics to show per page, how much messages to show per page, Advanced IM settings (after YaBBSE finishes their IM system update), and many others!) )
