I Installed Apache and my phpinfo.php doest work

Problem Description:
Hi i trying to run YaBB opn my server i isntalled php mysql and apach but when i type this in my browser

http://localhost/phpinfo.php

This appears

<?php
phpinfo();
?>
and a apache images is supposed to appear instead what did i do wrong please help

We are sorry, but this is not a problem with YaBB SE.

Rather, this may or may not be an issue with Apache or PHP.  Please consult the makers of those two programs.
