admin login?

Yeah, I don't know -- at first I thought it was the standard cookie issue, but I saw at least three odd errors when I was in there, then they all disappeared. Which is why I think your host is playing with something.

I can stay logged in, but can't access the admin panel. This is the error I receive:

fopen("./yabbinfo.xml","w") - Permission denied
(/home/talonsta/public_html/yabbse/Sources/Admin.php ln 1861

A bit of the XML appears at the top of the page.

This looks for a job for a TRUE YaBB guru.

. Im getting this very error, anyone know how to sort it?

Hello, I have the same problem, just installed, and are not able to login with my admin username and password, I am getting the errormessage saying that my username does not exist.
After deleting all my coockies, it now complaints about my password is not correct.
I have looked in the database table, saw the password is stored encrypted, then changed it to a non-encrypted one, not able to login with this either.

What could be the problem?
Any of you manage to find a solution?

Strange, just used the "forgot password?" function, got an email with my password, and then used that funny password(not the one I submitted when registered), and then I was able to login

I'v got rid of my problem by deleteing the getYaBBinfo stuff from my admin.php

This error should disappear after executing the command
chmod 666 *.xml
in the yabb se install dir. On my installation, this solved the problem.

I seem to have the same problem, the forum seems to work nice, but the pictures wont work, and i cant login  at all. The only thing i get is "You should fill in a username."
Wich i of course did  

The install went fine, no errors at all, i dont know why im gettin this error, im running apache 1.3.20, php 4.0.6

(oh question, what does the converion script convert? just users? or does it do posts too?)

i seem to have fixed the problem, i used my personal ip insteed of my domain name, then it seems to work pretty well.

I am having the problem where after installation I can't login to the admin account. No matter what I have tried in this thread nothing works. I hope this will be fixed soon as I was looking forward to it.

Jeff -- I never  had that problem -- I was helping someone who did -- they had other stuff not quite right in the settings, and I think their host was upgrading their php while they were trying to set things up. This was a week ago, and I don't remember what was wrong -- but it was something more than just cookies.

But here's some more advice -- I DID have this login cookie problem while beta testing, and I had a member who couldn't login until I did something drastic.

Anyhow -- from my experience the number one reason for login problems stems from the fact that you're logged into another YaBB board. Most likely your own, but sometimes it's another board, too. You need to LOG OUT -- restart your computer, and go directly to your YaBBSE -- without visiting any other YaBB board.

If that doesn't work, do it again -- log out from the YaBB boards and this time delete any YaBB cookie in your cookie files (and you can't have any web browsers open while you do this).  As an admin, make sure the first thing you do when you get into your panel is rename your cookie to something unique.
