Yabbe match maker mod, yabbpac, or stand alone prog.

I would love to see a mod, yabb-pac or a stand alone program that would work as a match maker program.
I have been wanting to start a match maker site, but in searching for a program that is gpl, works well, and is customizable well, their not out there. I have little cgi and no php programming exp. Would love to throw around some ideas to someone that would be interested in writing something like this. Yabb already has many of the features that would be needed in pulling off something like this. just imagine it would take a few more db fields, and some programing of the matching procedure.

Well, coming from my perspective, this is very custom. Unless I'm really out of the "scene", I can't imagine this being a widely requested mod. That being said, I'm thinking you could actually probably do this on your own. You seem to have a bit of background knowledge. If you looked at the YaBBSE code you can seriously teach yourself almost every major feature and trick with PHP/MySQL... I did! I didn't know a thing about php before YaBBSE, and I now like to think I've become fairly competent.

Just list out what fields you'd need, add them in, look at how selects things like memberName's, id's, ect, call your fields, look at how YaBBSE displays information, and then try doing it. Even try just adding one row to the memberlist (like try adding an extra column to the memberlist with another piece of data in it using the YaBBSE code as an example) PHP is seriously user friendly because a lot of it talks in plain english. And I LOVE not having to ask someone to code something for me, wait for it, and feeling bad or like a bother for having them do it. (Even though they've always been more than happy to.)

If you don't think you can, though (but I know you can! ), you'd have to find someone with a touch of time on their hands to do it. This seems increasingly hard as SMF is steamrolling forward and school is on for quite a lot of people.
