Want to modify Profile page setup

That's it. If anybody has any hints how I could add/remove fields from the User Profile page setup, please drop a line. I know very little about scripting, something about HTML though.

It takes a bit of knowledge of PHP, MySQL, and the like.

You could try asking about *what* you want to add.... but I can give you the process.

1. Add the column to the memebers table.
2. Add it to the profile fields.
3. Add it to the profile saving routine.

This could be done wiht a profile customization mod, and I have suggested ways of doing this before.  It's a big job, though.

Actually I think I want to swap one of the existing field, just giving the field a new name, which might make the process easier. Either of following:

Changing Gender -> Profession into a free text field, or if that's easier, replace the drop-down alternatives with new ones (and more than those three).

Changing Personal Text -> Profession and move it up below Gender.

Appreciate your help. Maybe this also encourages to some mod writing, since there may be a need for a more customizable profile page.
