maybe he means <a href> tag instead??

I don't know why you'd do that either, though, since you've got the www, email, AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, and IM right underneath the avatar.

No, I meant the alt-tag, I think it would be cool to use it to explain something about your avatar, who the person on the pic is or who made it or whatever, it would just be another nice space to leave some text.. or not?

alt attribute isn't meant for tooltip, the proper way to display a tooltip popup is by using title attribute
