How Can I Move My Board?

I need to move my board to a new webhost.  What's the best way to move a YaBBSE board?

Take a backup of your existing board's database.

Copy all of the YSE files.

On your new host, do a new installation for the version you're on.  Import your existing database and overwrite the new database.  Upload all of your YSE files, overwriting the ones you just installed.

Should be that simple.  :)

If you know all the correct paths for your new settings, you don't even have to do that. You can just upload your existing YSE files, import your existing database and edit your Settings.php manually (followed by your Attachments Upload Path and URL in Installed 'Mods' Settings and Options if you're using them). At least that's what I've done when I've moved my boards...

Right, but the way I do it retains CHMOD permissions, which means you won't have to know how to CHMod anything.  I was going for the simple and easy (lazy, dammit!) route, lol!
